BNB Casino Game Balance: Coin Units and Converted Units

A row of game tiles in four colours standing on no chain at all

After a deposit is credited, the number on the screen is a record in the operator’s system. It stops being a coin on a chain. How that record is kept, in BNB or in something else, decides how a move in the price changes what your money can do.

This note is about that bookkeeping, and about why the network, which dominated the deposit, disappears from view.

What is your balance once the deposit lands?

An entry in a database. The coins you sent are in the operator’s wallets, pooled with everyone else’s, and what you hold is a claim that the operator’s software records and will honour at the cashier. This is true of every custodial casino, and it is the reason a balance can be moved between games instantly: nothing on a blockchain is touched.

It also explains why the chain does not appear in the lobby. There is no per-game network, no choice of chain per spin. A game is played in the operator’s units, and the network matters again only when you ask for money back.

Is the balance held in BNB or converted?

Operators differ, and the cashier is where the difference is stated. Some keep a separate balance for each coin and show a fiat equivalent alongside it, so a BNB deposit stays a BNB balance and stakes are placed in BNB. Others convert a deposit to a single account unit at the moment it is credited and show everything in that unit.

Neither is better in general. A coin balance carries price risk the whole time you hold it: if BNB falls against your home currency while you play, the fiat value of the balance falls with it. A converted balance fixes the value at the rate used on crediting and pushes the price risk onto the withdrawal, because converting back at the end may give a different amount of coin than you sent.

We have not read the lobby terms of the twelve operators for this, and we do not claim which of them does which. The point is to know that the question exists and to find its answer before the first deposit rather than after the last withdrawal.

What does a price move do to stakes?

If stakes are denominated in coin, a minimum bet that was a small fiat amount yesterday can be a different one today. If the lobby shows stakes in fiat but the balance is held in coin, the operator converts at its own rate, and the rate it uses is one more term to read.

None of this changes the odds of a game. RTP belongs to the game, and the coin you funded it with has no effect on it. What the coin changes is the value of your position outside the game: the same sequence of wins and losses ends at a different fiat figure when the coin has moved.

Why does the network vanish after the deposit?

Because the network is a property of a transfer, and a transfer is something that happens at the edges. The deposit is one and the withdrawal is another. Everything between them is internal accounting.

That makes the withdrawal a second place to make the same mistake. When you cash out, you are asked for a destination address and a network once more, and the same look-alike address can lead you to choose the wrong one. We take that case up in the note on withdrawal records, because the records are what let you check afterwards.

How does bonus money sit in the balance?

Often as a separate bucket with its own conditions, wagered before or after your own money depending on the operator’s rules. Which bucket a stake draws from, and what happens to a win made with bonus money, are terms on the operator’s page and affect how much of the balance is withdrawable at any moment. The bonus page lists what to look for.

Balance questions

Is my balance on the blockchain?
No. After crediting it is a record in the operator’s system. The chain is involved again only on withdrawal.
Can a BNB price drop reduce my balance?
If the balance is held in BNB, its fiat value falls with the price. If it was converted on deposit, the price risk moves to the point of withdrawal.
Does the deposit coin change a game’s odds?
No. The return of a game is a property of the game.
